Terms of Use
Effective date: August 26, 2026
About these terms
These Terms of Use apply to base64tools.online and its browser-based Base64 utilities. The website is operated by an individual developer. By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.
The service
Base64 Tools currently provides free utilities for converting, validating and inspecting Base64, Base64URL, hexadecimal, document and image data. No account or registration is required. Tool inputs and outputs are processed locally by your browser as described in the Privacy Policy. Email messages that you choose to send through your own email service are separate from the browser-only tool processing.
Check your results
You are responsible for reviewing and validating all inputs, outputs, detected file types, previews, downloads, code snippets and explanations before relying on them. Encoding, decoding, validation and file detection can be affected by incomplete, mislabeled, corrupted, malicious or unsupported data. You are responsible for deciding whether an output is accurate and suitable for your intended use.
Permitted use and third-party rights
You may use the website only for lawful purposes and only with data and files that you are authorized to use. You are responsible for complying with applicable laws, contractual duties, confidentiality obligations, intellectual property rights, privacy rights and other third-party rights. The website does not grant you rights in data, files, trademarks, software or other materials owned by another person.
Prohibited use
You must not use the website to break the law; infringe or violate another person's rights; expose passwords, keys, tokens or other secrets; process malicious content with the purpose of harming another person or system; interfere with, overload, probe or disrupt the website or its hosting; bypass access or security controls; or misrepresent the website, its operator or its outputs.
Intellectual property
The website's own design, text and software are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of the website or its materials to you. Rights in content or files that you process remain with their respective owners.
Provided as is
The website and its utilities are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator disclaims warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, security, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The operator does not promise that the website will always be available, error-free or suitable for any particular workflow.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, files, business, revenue or profits, arising from or related to your use of, inability to use, or reliance on the website or its outputs. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Service changes
The operator may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the website, and may update these terms, without promising that any particular utility or feature will remain available. If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Changes apply from the effective date shown on the updated page and do not change earlier periods retroactively.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains the website's local processing, analytics, cookies, hosting and contact details. It forms an important part of how the service is described, but it does not create a guarantee that no third party involved in internet access, hosting, analytics or email can process data as described in its own policy.
Contact
Questions about these terms may be sent to support@base64tools.online. Please do not email passwords, keys, tokens, sensitive Base64 content, or confidential or protected files.
Entire terms and severability
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, describe the rules for using this website. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.
